Looking into the fires of hell. RAAF F-111 A8-113 blasts the adoring crowd. Navigated by Flt.Lt Susan Youngman.
RAAF No.6 SQN F-111C A8-113, piloted by SqnLdr Craig Whiting and navigated by FltLt Susan Youngman, condenses the cold air over Wanaka on Friday 14th April 2006.

Two more F-111's were at Harewood during the weekend: A8-142 which had a hydraulic leak and had to make an emergency landing. A8-147 arrived at Harewood on 16th April.

RNZAF Boeing 757 NZ 7572 shows astounding manoeurerability at low level.
Liquid silver. The undersides of the RNZAF Boeing 757 NZ 7572 as the aircraft makes a low pass at Wanaka.
RNZAF Boeing 757 NZ-7572 displays at Warbirds over Wanaka 2006 banking away into the gloom of storm clouds over the Harris Mountains to the north of Wanaka. And they say never shoot into the sun! A monochromatic version, slightly cropped. Presented at Northside Creative Photography Club and awarded a "Special Merit" by judge Pieta Ward 3.5.06.
Polikarpov I-153 Chaika which was armed with four 7.62 mm machine guns and was powered by a M-62 1,000 hp engine giving a top speed of 275 mph making it the fastest biplane ever produced. The I-153 first flew in 1938 and served in the Far East in the summer of 1939 against the Japanese Army on the Manchurian border at Nomongan. The type also saw service in the Finnish War of 1939-40. Used by the Chinese Nationalist forces against the Japanese. This and two other wrecks, sourced from Russia, were rebuilt in that country for Sir Tim Wallis in the 1990s. Polikarpov I-153 Chaika which was armed with four 7.62 mm machine guns and was powered by a M-62 1,000 hp engine giving a top speed of 275 mph making it the fastest biplane ever produced. The I-153 first flew in 1938 and served in the Far East in the summer of 1939 against the Japanese Army on the Manchurian border at Nomongan. The type also saw service in the Finnish War of 1939-40. Used by the Chinese Nationalist forces against the Japanese. This and two other wrecks, sourced from Russia, were rebuilt in that country for Sir Tim Wallis in the 1990s.
